What should the aims of the university system be, and in what ways does it need to change in order to fulfil them more effectively?

…development, especially considering the breakthroughs that globalisation has brought the past decade. Having said that, in my opinion joined forces from government and the university system must serve to a broader range of function than economic. Universities must provide academic programmes suitable for people's professional backgrounds and needs; education have to orientate its efforts toward a society as a whole, with the extensive variety of cultures, and vocational and professional training's needs that this includes.
