The death penalty, whether it is right or not, is a very controversial subject in today's society. Death is used as a quick and desperate attempt to solve human problems. It may not be the correct way to solve a problem, but it is still being done. …the rest of his or her life without the chance of ever getting out. We, as Catholics, should speak out against the death penalty. It is not human for us to take away another person's life. We are going against the Catholic Social Teaching (CST) of respecting the life and dignity of the human person by practicing the death penalty. The death penalty needs to be ended if we want to become closer with God.
