Every depression is followed by a recession, as was Europe's Medieval Ages followed by the Renaissance. Humanism contributes to the idea that a group is only as good as the people it's composed of, and that there would be no group at all without the individuals, and Lorenzo contributed further to this belief. On April 8, 1492, Lorenzo De' Medici died a premature death in the Villa of Careggi. At his funeral, the entire population of Florence attended to mourn over the loss of such a wonderful mind and person.
