The Gobi Desert and Desertification.

The Gobi Desert, the most recognized desert of Asia, is also one of the largest deserts in the world. Nomadic herdsmen sustain life in the severe conditions through grazing animals, and require horses especially to travel. Although now converging with more Western styles of life, these people in their survival in the desert are still preserving customs from long ago when their ancestors were part of the great Mongol Empire. …and obtain water at wells or ponds. Their friendliness towards each other is a great attribute that enables them to survive in such harsh conditions through sharing and helping each other. Desertification is an environmental problem wherein marginal areas become full deserts, and the degradation of semi-deserts. Mankind has greatly contributed to it through overuse of the land and the destruction of plants. Although a desert, the Gobi is a wonderful place with remarkable inhabitants.
