Should September the Eleventh Be A National Holiday? On September 11th 2001, the United States was attacked by terrorists who decided to try to crash 4 planes full of passengers into targets that they felt could cause the most damage to our country. …no way can compare to the loss of life and devastation of 9-11, they are still horrible events that should also be remembered. 9-11 should not be made a holiday that will slowly lose its significance over the years. It should be a day to remember the precious lives lost and as a day the world found out that the United States will not sit by and let terrorists do whatever they want to us.
