…Marx received orders from Classification and Assignment every trainee was to be shipped to Camp Stoneman, California-all but one. "Private Sheldon Grossbart. He was to be sent to Fort Monmouth, New Jersey." After receiving these orders Sgt. Marx called Classification and Assignment and changed the orders for Grossbart. Grossbart did not like this, he felt like using people had just bitten him in the butt, but he did go to the Pacific with everyone else.
