…e Muslim and the remaining population are Christian. French and English are both official languages, and there are many regions that speak Bantu throughout Cameroon. Cameroon has been one of the most successful countries in Africa as far as education. Mission schools have helped the people dramatically, however the literacy rate is still at 63 percent. In 1996, 85 percent of primary school-aged children were enrolled in school, while only 26 percent of appropriately aged children attended secondary school.
