Certainly one like "Reading in the Dark" appeals to the imagination and some people might even be disappointed if it would only have one significance. …using Reading in the Dark as the title of his book, as it is both captivating and conveying all the different aspects that are dealt with in the novel. All the elements that are concerned with reading and both literal and metaphorical darkness are incessantly present and turn the novel into a stirring report of a family's history.
