In this novel, A Lesson Before Dying by Ernest J. Gaines it is evident that Grant Wiggings and Jefferson are victims of racial segregation. In closing it is evident that both Grant and Jefferson were victims of racial segregation. Both from the quotes from the book and the quotes from the Jim Crow laws gives examples of racial segregation. Most black people in the mid 1900's were exposed to racial segregation.
