Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian statesman, writer, and political theorist. He was born Niccolo di Bernardo dei Machiavelli on May 3, 1469 in Florence, Italy. He grew up with his parents, Bartoloma and Bernardo, and two sisters, along with a younger brother. He began his education at the age of seven, learning the principles of Latin grammar and rhetoric. His actions also affected history, as he took charge and helped maintain an alliance with foreign states. All of the actions of Machiavelli helped the Florentine government maintain strong power. He was very important in history, and is still noted today as people refer to his concepts and strategies he detailed. Niccolo di Bernardo Dei Machiavelli died on June 21, 1527.
