Maurits Cornelius Escher
Born in the small town of Leeuwarden in the Netherlands, on June 17th 1898, was M.C. Escher. He is one of the most famous graphic artists of all time; what made his style so unique was not only his understanding and use of mathematics, but also his impossible worlds that he had created. He started a trend that many artists to this day still follow.

his investigations and research of mathematics. He established his own foundation in 1968 to protect the legacy of his artwork.
During his lifetime, Escher produced over 2000 drawings and 448 lithographs, wood engravings, and woodcuts. He became extremely ill in 1964 giving a series of lectures throughout North America and died the 27th of March in 1972 back at his home in the Netherlands. Maurits amazing style of art started a trend that many artists of today try to reproduce.
