…war peace treaties, especially at Versailles, put Germany in a perfect position to first build up massive nationalism, not only in their own country but also in former German states, then pursue almost Napoleonic expansionist ambitions. On the other hand one might argue that the provisions of the treaties were based on future peace and it was just that it was not enforced by the League of Nations or the nations that signed the treaty.
