Out of these three, iron has the most stable nuclei and is therefore the most common ingredient in magnets. The Titanic, Carpathia, Britannica, were all made out of iron and so are ships today. Iron is not without its drawbacks however, when exposed with moist air or when it is at high temperatures is rapidly rusts and corrodes.
