Implementation of empowerment: case study

Abstract The aim of this paper is to asses the validity of the empowerment thesis; the belief that new forms of work organisation are overturning traditional managerial structures and returning control of employees. As competition is changing rapidly to a global market economy, organizations need to realize that they too, have to change to remain competitive. This only can be achieved through cooperation, perseverance and much patience. The process may take time, tenacity and also the cost is significant, but the benefits are enormous. This provides the organization with the necessary tools to meet the challenges of the future.
