Evangelista Torricelli was born on 0ctober 15, 1608 in Faezna, Romagna. He grew up in a poor family and his parents were Gaspare Torricelli and Caterina Angetti. Gaspare was a textile worker. Evangolista was the oldest of three children. him to publish all his unpublished manuscripts and letters. Many however were lost, but 4 volumes of his work were published. The last was in 1944, 300 years after his death. If Torricelli had of lived longer he probably would have made many other mathematical discoveries. He also had collections of paradoxes, which demonstrate his understanding of Calculus. He may have even made discoveries that will never be discovered, because many of his ideas were never properly recorded.
