Environmental Science and the Tragedy of the Commons

Garret Hardin, the author of "The Tragedy of the Commons", studies the natural cycle of humans using non-replenishable resources, and the causes of the cycle. …were practiced, the quality of life would decrease for us today, but the sacrifice would help to sustain the human population in the future. I believe that Hardin's solution is impractical, and therefore ineffective. Most people today would not sacrifice their standard of living to help save the environment. For the Tragedy of Commons' cycle to break, it will take a lot of effort and dedication, a dedication that most people today do not posses.
