Ben had to fight against Madec, nature, and phsycologically against himself, he over came all three and was able to outwit Madec which is a hard thing to do when it seems that you have absolutely no chance of surviving. Ben will never get over the trauma that he had to endure because of Madec and everything he had to go through.
