Bureaucracy and Street-level Bureaucrats

Do the Street-level bureaucrats (SLB) perform well? Introduction According to Michael Lipsky (1993), street-level bureaucrats (SLB) are the civil servants who interact with citizens directly and have wide discretion over the allocation of services. They act as the agency between the government and the public in which their activities affect the way of the bureaucracy in fulfilling its responsibilities. …and instantly to the clients. These bring them great pressures and hence they may not be able to fulfil their duties as the general expected. Therefore, we, as one of the citizens in this society, have to be more considerate to them instead of only criticize them irrationally.
