With a book as fascinating as One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, one can not help but wonder about the man behind the story. Ken Kesey, born the youngest of two sons on September 17, 1935, in La Junta, Colorado, was no less interesting as the stories he told.

he did admit that his wild ways never did fully subside. Later in 1992, his third novel Sailor Song was published.
Unfortunately, Kesey's alternate lifestyle eventually caught up with him. Kesey died on November 10, 2001 after a cancer surgery on his liver. His name is carried on to this day through the works in his writing. From his outstanding education, to his outrageous drug tests, there will never be an author that can compare to Ken Kesey.
