J.B Preistley was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, 1894, and had experienced many different social backgrounds. …play is based on this in a shorter time scale. I feel that the themes of used by Priestley in 'An Inspector Calls' are still relevant to today's society. As still do we function in favour of capitalists and so called 'celebrities' and that people with less money are often regarded as second-class citizens. Though the charities are of better quality today and there is much more help available than there was for Eva in 1912.
