The First World War and its subsequent events were like no other event in history. …of people were at the time actually fighting in the war, or supported it with the 'Home Front' because they believed the appeal that victory carried was well worth the sacrifice. Considering this was the sort of war that no one, including the directors, such as politicians, wanted to fight, the 'Home Front' seemed to be somewhat of a necessity for the concept of 'Total War' to be achieved, and ultimately for victory to result.
