…for the Confederate states to rejoin the Union but virtually this was a lost cause. Generally Lincoln created the Emancipation Proclamation in an attempt to persuade the Border States to not side with the Confederates. His Emancipation Proclamation proved successful in this sense, but when concerning the liberation of the slaves the outcome did not generate a significant revolutionary change, thus leaving the social structure and equality balance between the black and white races unchanged.
